The Power of Community-Driven Testing
Today, we're thrilled to launch Community Testing—a feature that puts you in control of which products get lab tested. Can't find a product in our database? Want to verify a brand's safety claims? Now you can request testing and join forces with other users to make it happen.
How Community Testing Works
The process is simple and transparent:
- Step 1: Search for a product not yet in our database or scan its barcode
- Step 2: Create a testing request with basic product details
- Step 3: Other users vote on and optionally contribute to fund the lab testing
- Step 4: Once funding reaches 100%, we purchase the product and send it to an accredited lab
- Step 5: Results are published in the app for everyone to see— completely free and transparent
What Gets Tested?
Our partner labs test for a comprehensive panel of contaminants:
- Heavy metals (lead, arsenic, mercury, cadmium)
- PFAS (forever chemicals)
- Plastics additives (BPA, BPS, phthalates)
- Pesticide residues
- Microplastics
- Other product-specific toxins
All testing is performed by ISO-certified laboratories using validated methods. We publish full reports, not just summary scores.
